The poetry of hands, 27
Curly-leaved kale

In today's sharp sparkle

... We are shaped by every language and culture, drawn from every end of this Earth ... / Obama Inauguration Speech, Washington, DC / January 20, 2009

In today’s sharp sparkle, this winter air,
anything can be made, any sentence begun.

On the brink, on the brim, on the cusp —
praise song for walking forward in that light.

~ Inaugural poem “Praise Song for the Day” by Elizabeth Alexander
